Real Life

“I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matt 28:5-6) The women arrived early Sunday morning at the tomb. They had planned to finish anointing a dead Jesus with sweet spices. Instead, they found the tomb open with no body inside, and an angel telling them that Jesus is risen. The angel knew they were seeking a crucified Jesus--not a risen Jesus. So, he corrects them by pointing them away from a corpse to a very alive, risen Christ.

He shows them where the dead Jesus use to lay, but now He is not there because He is risen.

He is Risen. This is the message of Easter. Jesus was dead, was buried, but not anymore. Don’t seek Jesus in the dead of religion and rituals. Seek Him in the living relationship He provides in His resurrection. To many people, Jesus is still dead. Just another famous person of history come and gone.

But He is Risen. He wasn’t risen. Jesus IS risen. He’s gonna stay risen. Forever. He said “I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen.” --Rev 1:18. You won’t find Jesus in a tomb. You will find Him outside the tomb, in the garden. Like Mary, just turn around and you will see the risen, living Jesus who can save you from all your sins.

Have a blessed Easter.
