Real Life

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” --Acts 2:4 The Spirit that day gave the disciples tongues to preach the word of God, to declare the Gospel, in a language that the various Jews from different nations could understand. And a crowd of souls got saved that morning.

But do you know you can speak in a tongue that I can’t speak? And that I can speak in a tongue that you can’t? You have a tongue that can speak to a lost person who will only listen to you.

They won’t or can’t relate to anyone else, but man they will listen to you. I can talk to musicians, because I speak their tongue. Maybe you have a mechanic’s tongue, or a nurse’s tongue, or a gardener’s tongue.

Maybe you have a widow‘s tongue or a divorced tongue or a grieving parent tongue who knows the sorrow of losing a spouse or a child.

We all have different tongues. And the Holy Spirit will use that tongue to speak to someone who can only understand your tongue. His Spirit will give you utterance as to what to say. This of course is no guarantee that people who listen to you, even though you speak the same language, will accept Christ. You just speak, leave the results to Jesus.
