Tractor Supply Company held their grand opening in Gray May 21, welcoming in Jones County residents to shop for all their rural lifestyle needs.
The new store is located at 4155 Gray Highway, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Kevin Branchaud, the store manager, said he’s from Warner Robins, so he commutes to Gray daily for work. He said he loves the community of Jones County. He said he loves the country feel, and he’d love to move to Gray if he could.
“I’ve been with Tractor Supply for four years, so I feel like I know what to do here,” he said. “People should come in and see what we have. I can’t always guarantee we will have what they need, but we will try our best to get it.”
He said he was excited for the grand opening, and to welcome in customers. He said if residents haven’t stopped by Tractor Supply yet, they should come see what the store is all about.
“Tractor Supply is for rural communities. We sell farming equipment, dog and cat food, feed, and pretty much anything to live a rural lifestyle. We also sell clothing, which is something we need here. We have so much more,” Branchaud said.
The store manager said they sell lawnmowers, outdoor power equipment, the store has a garden center with various plants and tools, soils, basics needed for landscaping, chainsaws, weed eaters, a wide variety of pet food, livestock feed and accessories, trailer equipment, clothing, boots, tools, grills, charcoal, coolers, and more. He said next spring they will start selling live baby chicks.
“Tractor Supply brings more retail variety to Jones County,” he said. “We have a great store here, ACE of Gray, which provides a lot to the community. We’re offering a little more, so people have additions and options.”
Branchaud said Tractor Supply Company gives residents another place to shop in Gray if ACE doesn’t have something they need. He said he hopes Tractor Supply and Ace Hardware of Gray complement each other instead of competing with each other.
“The feedback about the store has been outstanding. Everybody loves it, and they think it’s very nice. The majority of our staff is from right here in Gray. A lot of our team members know the customers who come in, because they live here. Customers are glad to see people they know, too,” Branchaud said.
He said for the grand opening they gave away hats and gift cards. He said they had vendors outside for people to check out, too. He said people seemed to enjoy the grand opening. He said he loves the relationships he builds with people at Tractor Supply, and he hopes to see everyone stop by.
“The best thing about being here at Tractor Supply is the customers. I love the people I meet, and all the experiences I get from here,” he said. “I learn so much from the customers. When I first started with the store, I didn’t know much about livestock, but they taught me so much. Come see what we offer here at Tractor Supply.”
