The Georgia Ports Authority is reporting a strong first half to the current fiscal year.The Port of Savannah handled more than 2.8 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containerized cargo from July through December, an increase of 11.4% over the same period the previous year.

BOE calls meeting to listen to concerns

The Jones County Board of Education held the second of its required three hearings last week to opt out of HB 581 without any members of the public in attendance. That changed about 30 minutes later when the room started filling up for a public comments session.
