Republican gubernatorial candidate visits Jones County

South Georgia native, Kandiss Taylor, is running for governor of Georgia and visited Jones County on April 15 in the parking lot of Agave Azul, sharing her policies and getting to know people in the county. She said she’s lived in Georgia her entire life.

Superior Court Motions

PLEA State vs. Brenda Gail Steiger – 12 months for the offense of criminal trespass. Sentence to be served on probation. PROBATION MODIFICATIONS State vs. Phillip Eric Mulling – defendant ordered to enter into and complete the Macon Day Reporting Center, followed by aftercare.

JCHS prepping to host sports camps again

As the school year nears its completion, Greyhounds coaches and student-athletes are readying to host future Greyhounds at various sports camps that’ll begin in May and go through late June.

The Gray/Jones County GICH committee had a presentation from the Director of the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing at its April meeting. The April 18 meeting was called to order by Chairman Donald Black and was joined via Zoom by Jermaine Durham, Ph.

Kiwanis Club 4-H Donation
