Peggy Williams Stevens, age 79, of Gray, peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, September 26, 2025, surrounded by her family. We are confident that she was immediately in the presence of Jesus. Peggy was born January 3, 1946, to the late Leonard Lee and Ethel Bussell Williams. Peggy is predeceased by her sister, LaWanna Smith.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Robert Lawrence Stevens; daughter, Suzanne Stevens Denman and her husband, Brian; her grandson, Mathew Golden and his wife, Kaitlyn; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Krattli and her husband, Blaine; Megan Nowack and her husband, Aaron; and her niece, Christie McNair and husband, Bob; and great-nephew, Seth McNair.
Peggy and Larry met in 1964. They knew they were meant for each other, and they married in 1968. She was a member of New City Eastside. She served as an educator of American History at Jones County High School for 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed. A private graveside service was held, Monday, September 29, 2025, at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray, with Pastor Lawrence Robinson officiating.
