The author of a book inspired by the annual Gray Methodist Church live Nativity will be at the Jones County Library Saturday for a book signing.
The latest southern fiction novel by Katie Hart Smith is “Go Light the World.” Smith will be at the library, located at 146 Railroad St. in Gray, Nov. 22 from noon to 2 p.m.
According to a press release about the event, the story is an inspiring message of resilience and faith and is set in Middle Georgia and Atlanta.
“The novel draws partial inspiration from the live nativity produced by Gray United Methodist Church, weaving themes of community and hope throughout its pages.” The story centers around a nurse practitioner who struggles after a patient’s death and confronts questions of faith, family and forgiveness while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation tracks a growing crime syndicate.
“Even in our darkest moments, God’s light never leaves us,” Smith said. “This story reminds us that sometimes, it’s in the middle of our struggles that we discover our true purpose.”
The Georgia-based author’s work spans more than 30 years and includes the acclaimed Sacred Heart series, a historical fiction collection honored with placement in the Georgia Governor’s Mansion Library.
