Stolen cookware

Dep. Dennis was dispatched to a local business in reference to shoplifting. Once on scene, Dennis made contact with an employee of the business and a witness. They advised the deputy that a male subject entered the business and took what they thought to be three blenders.

Dennis reviewed the security footage. The footage showed a male subject enter the business wearing a dark colored ball cap, light colored jogger style pants, a red hooded sweatshirt with a black jacket and a pair of red colored athletic shoes. The male was seen on the footage taking the items and leaving the business without paying. Further review of the security footage shows the male taking two electric griddles valued at $20 each and a slow cooker (crock pot) valued at $30. Dennis provided the employee a case card and will request the JCSO IT department to download the security footage from the business.

No permit to drive

Dep. Patterson was on patrol when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Graham Rd. and Stagecoach Dr. Patterson made the stop due to the vehicle only having one working taillight and brake light. The deputy made contact with the male driver and advised him the reason for the stop. Patterson asked the male driver for his driver’s license and ran a check on the subject. The male’s license came back showing suspended. Patterson returned to the male driver and asked him if he knew his license was suspended. The male advised the deputy that he knew, but he had a work permit to drive. At that time, Patterson radioed dispatch to check on the work permit. Dispatch advised the deputy there was no work permit. Patterson walked back to the male’s vehicle and placed him under arrest for driving while license suspended or revoked.

The male driver was given a warning for the taillight violation. Patterson then transported the male driver to the Jones County jail for booking.
