Real Life

On March 28, at 10am, we will have the 3rd “Walk With The Cross” event. We will walk from the gazebo at Carol’s Park down the sidewalk to in front of Ingles. There Pastor Randy Darnell will speak a short devotional, after which we will walk back to Carol’s Park. It’s a silent walk. No talking. The cross will do all the speaking needed.

But as we walk, each person is encouraged to silently pray for the souls of Jones County or for those of any county. Pray for an awakening in the hearts of the unsaved and a revival in the those who are saved.

Six men will carry the cross, passing it off to the next man at intervals along the way. Why six? Jesus hung on the cross for six hours. Six is the number of man (Rev 13:8). It’s the number of incompleteness. And without Jesus in our lives, we are very incomplete. As we walk, people will see the cross, and with Easter around the corner, they will hopefully be reminded of what Jesus did for them--shedding His holy blood for the atonement of their sins.

If you are free that Saturday, make plans to come and walk, roughly about 1.5 miles or so. Tell your church about this event. Bring your church members. Bring your family. Come and help take up the cross for the souls of Jones County and middle Georgia. And begin to pray now that Jesus will anoint this walk.
