I am writing to express my strong support for Marilyn Norfleet as a candidate for Chairperson of the Jones County School System. Mrs. Norfleet brings a lifetime of dedication to education, public service, and family-qualities that are essential for effective and trustworthy leadership in our schools.
As a devoted Christian, wife of a pastor, and First Lady for decades, Marilyn Norfleet has demonstrated unwavering commitment to serving others with compassion, integrity, and strong moral values. Her faith-centered approach to leadership reflects a deep understanding of community needs and the importance of building relationships grounded in trust and respect. She is a strong advocate for families and consistently prioritizes the well-being and success of students, parents, and educators alike.
Our community deserves transparency and neutrality in education leadership. When district leaders appear at partisan events-especially during an election cycle-it can create confusion about whether decisions are being made for students or for politics. Our focus should be on keeping education and education discussion non-partisan and centered on students. They should remain open, accessible, and non-partisan so families can trust the process and stay fully informed.
