“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority.”
(I Tim 2:1-2) This Thursday, May the 7th, is the National Day of Prayer for America. This day is set aside for Americans to come together to pray and give thanks for this great nation. God has blessed us with the privilege of living in the greatest country to ever rise on earth, in spite of its faults and sins. Fueled by the fires of the first Great Awakening, established by the brilliant minds of the Revolution, founded upon the precepts of the Bible, America has been a nation anointed by God.
We are also to pray for our elected leaders, like them or not. We are to pray that they will abide by the word of God and the word of our great Constitution. Pray our leaders seek God’s wisdom as they govern, instead of man’s sinful concepts. And pray for the protection of all our leaders.
There will be many activities concerning the Day of Prayer, one being a prayer service to be held at Carol’s Park in Gray at 630pm on May 7th. Come and pray for your nation and our leaders.
Bring a Bible. Bring a friend. God Bless America and may America bless God!
