Robert Roy Allen, 94, went to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on June 12, 2026. Born in Gordon, GA, he spent all of his adult life as a resident of Macon, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dolly Allen; his son, Robert D. Allen; and his grandson, Kevin Lee Barnard, Jr.
Robert served two years as a Corporal in the United States Army. He retired as a machinist but continued working various small jobs well into his late 80s. He loved piddling in his sheds, rebuilding things, and tending to his garden.
He married Barbara Ann Sheffield and recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Robert gave his life to Christ on September 14, 1968. He faithfully served with a gentle, quiet spirit at Gilead Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
Besides his beloved wife, he leaves behind a daughter, Tracy Queen; a son, Steven Allen (Andrea); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Stroud.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel, 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, GA 31032. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel. A private burial will be held afterward at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Gilead Baptist Church Missions Fund.
