The Pilot Club of Jones County met Tuesday, June 23, for the installation of officers, with 42 members and four guests in attendance.
The Jonesco Clubhouse was beautifully decorated, featuring lighthouse centerpieces to showcase Governor Jacque Hatcher’s logo and theme for the year, “Everybody Can Do More, Care More, Be More.” Guests included Lt. Gov. Melissa Stephens of the Southeast Region, 2026-27 Georgia district governor Jacque Hatcher, and Carol Simmons of the Pilot Club of Dublin.
Fay Mathews presented special recognitions. Faye Turk was recognized for 45 years of service, Judy Bledsoe for 35 years, and for 25 years of service the following: Lanette Bryant, Ellen Lashley, Ruthie McMichael, Sarah Morseman and Ann Heiges. Rose Ann Fielder was recognized for 20 years of service and Pat Jackson for 15 years. Martha Ann Altman, Tharpe Greene, and Wanda Wellborn were recognized for 10 years and Terry Walston for 5 years.
Kathy Jackson presented the 2025-26 Pilot of the Year Award to Fay Mathews followed by the Installation Service for the 2026-27 officers with Melissa Stephens presiding: president, Beth Coon; vice president, Cindy Jones; treasurer, Wanda Bush; recording secretary, Nancy McCook; and corresponding secretary, Terri Wiggins.
Directors for 2026-27 are Karen Bryant, Andrea Riley, and Fay Mathews, and directors for 202628, Margie Childs and Cheryl Jean.
After the Installation, the exchange of the gavel and pins by the president and president-elect followed. The meeting concluded with the Code of Ethics responsive reading followed by singing “Sail on International.”
