Amos “Frank” Jackson, Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. He was born on March 10, 1939.
Frank dedicated his entire career to serving others through law enforcement, a profession he was deeply proud of. He spent his life protecting his community with integrity, honor, and compassion.
His unwavering faith in the Lord guided every aspect of his life, and he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, sharing laughter, and serving others with a kind and genuine heart.
Frank was known for his warm smile, friendly spirit, and joyful personality. He never met a stranger and always had a joke ready to brighten someone’s day. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including fishing, hunting, watching food shows on television, and relaxing with classic Western movies. Those who knew him will always remember his signature overalls, which became his unmistakable fashion statement through the years.
Above all, Frank was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. He taught his family the importance of kindness, faith, and finding joy in everyday life. His example of unwavering love, trustworthiness, and devotion to God will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa Jackson and Lula Mercer Jackson; his beloved wife, Mary Jackson; his beloved daughter, Christine Elaine Sama; and many brothers and sisters.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Amos Jackson, Jr.
(Yvette); his grandsons, Jake Jackson (Austin) and Kevin Jackson (Autumn); his grandson, Adam Schaffauer; his great-grandchildren, Evie Jackson, Oliver Jackson, and Aevin Jackson; his sisters, Louise Brooks and Louis Folendore; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
The family received friends on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel.
A funeral service immediately followed the visitation in the chapel with Rev. Garry Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Elam Baptist Church in Frank’s memory.
Though he will be deeply missed, Frank’s legacy of faith, service, kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
