    Local attorney Bert King has decided 42 years is long enough to practice law, and he is taking down the shingle effective Oct. 1.

    “I just want to do some things that I’ve never had time to do,” he shared last week, then added with a chuckle, “As a solo practitioner, you don’t get a month off paid; you don’t get anything off paid.”
