Floyd takes job at TCC, rejoins Rogers

COACH MOVES ON

The Greyhounds will have at least one new face on their coaching staff next year, as one of the more tenured assistants on staff will be departing.

Jay Floyd, the Greyhounds offensive line coach whose roles included being the strength and conditioning coach and being the track and field coach, will be taking a position with Thomas County Central, where he’ll be the strength and conditioning coordinator.

The official announcement was made on social media last week by TCC. Floyd’s move will reunite him with a familiar face from his time with the Greyhounds, as the Yellow Jackets are head coached by former JCHS head coach Justin Rogers, whose team advanced to the quarterfinals this past season in the AAAAAA classification.

Floyd was recently recognized by Parker Resources as one of this year’s assistant coaches of the year for strength and conditioning in the AAAAA classification.
