Two local students were recently awarded Operation Roundup Scholarships from the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Celeste Adkins-Chatfield and Dylan Gattie, both from Gray, will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to go towards school expenses. Chatfield will attend Valdosta State University to earn a degree in Organizational Leadership. Gattie is attending Georgia Southern to obtain a degree in Construction Engineering.
The Tri-County EMC Foundation is funded by members voluntarily rounding their electric bill to the next dollar each month. These funds go towards bettering the communities that Tri-County EMC serves through scholarships and Operation Roundup grants to local civic and non-profit groups.
