Twin Lakes Physical Therapy has been a part of the Jones County community for many years, helping clients with various services and providing localized health care to the community.
Twin Lakes Physical Therapy is located at 222 West Clinton Street #3 in Gray, and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Chris Alford, one of the owners of Twin Lakes, said he got interested in physical therapy in junior high school, and opened up Twin Lakes in 2004. He said when he moved back to Georgia after college, he wanted to live in Jones County. He said he saw a need for physical therapy in Jones County, so he decided to open Twin Lakes Physical Therapy. Shawn Roberts is the other owner.
“Not many people are aware you can get physical therapy in Gray, but Twin Lakes has been there going on almost 20 years,” he said. “I’ve lived in Jones County over 20 years, and our physical therapists and physical therapist assistant also live in Jones County. They are part of this community, and we want people to know that.”
He said Twin Lakes isn’t owned by a large corporation, and they have only one other location in Milledgeville. He said the three therapists in the Gray facility have over 40 years of combined experience providing physical therapy.
Jake Griffin, a physical therapist and clinical director, said he started at Twin Lakes in 2012 in Milledgeville, filling in at the Gray facility. He said he is now the clinical director at the Gray location. He said growing up he was around a lot of physical therapists due to playing sports, so he decided to pursue a career

in the field. He said he’s lived in Jones County since 2012.
“People who come to work here at Twin Lakes tend to stay. It’s a family environment. One of the things I enjoy most is being able to work here in Gray and learn more about the people who actually live in the community. I love the environment of Jones County, and I call it home,” he said.
Alford said people can choose to have physical therapy where they want, and they can have it locally at Twin Lakes Physical Therapy in Gray. He said Twin Lakes is important for Jones County, because the community is very limited on health care options. He said even though they can’t help with every aspect of health care, they can make physical therapy easier to access.
“Our goal is to help keep people moving in life. We want people to get back to life as they need and want it. You can now seek physical therapy without the referral from a physician,” the owner said. “We intended for our practice to remove many logistical barriers for individuals needing physical therapy.
We wanted to improve the access to care and allow for increased quality, efficiency and satisfaction of the patient.”
The director said people seem to really enjoy getting their physical therapy done at Twin Lakes. He said it’s been about making connections and building relationships with people in the community who walk through the doors.
“Getting physical therapy here at Twin Lakes saves people time. If they have an injury or surgery where they require physical therapy, they can come right down the road and get it done instead of driving way across town in Macon or somewhere else,” Griffin said. “It’s great we can serve the Jones County community in that way and make things more convenient for clients. We want people to be happy with what they get done here.”
