The Lady Greyhounds picked up what could be a well-timed victory on Friday. Needed momentum as region play nears, Jones County snapped a five-game winless streak last Friday, posting a shutout of Peach County 3-0. Daisy Blanton scored a pair of goals in the win with one being added by Reagan Sorrell.
The win followed a 10-0 mercy rule loss the Tuesday before against a talented Jackson team. Jones County bounced back against Peach, however, taking firm control on the first half with two goals before tacking on an insurance goal in the second half.
The Lady Hounds (2-4-1), who played Lamar County this past Tuesday, begin region play Friday at Locust Grove. Another non-region match is set for next Tuesday against Mary Persons with Union Grove coming to Gray on March 14.
