JCHS taking advantage of course time so far

GOLF HOUNDS

On-course time against other teams was an issue last spring for the Greyhounds, with a good part of their matches being washed out by weather.

That’s far from the case this season as so far, spring-like weather has given way for the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds.

While higher-caliber tournaments await later this month in the separate GSGA events, a mix and home and away events are also coming soon.

Jones County split a match with Lamar County on Monday, the Lady Hounds winning with an overall score of 127 to the Trojans 150. Jones County had three finish with sub-45 rounds with Keegan Goins having a round of 40, Sarah Utley with a round of 43 Kimber Kent with a round of 44.

The Greyhounds had an overall score of 190 in the boys match, losing to Lamar County’s 166. Scorers for the Greyhounds were Austin Hester with a 46, Holden Nipper and Barrett Beasly each with a round of 47 and Ben Ridley carding a round of 50.
