All three teams sweep Greyhound Invitational
The Greyhound Invitational lived up to its name on Saturday, with the varsity Gym Hounds setting a season high score of 95.8 and all three teams, the varsity, JV and middle school squads winning to give the Gym Hounds a clean sweep of the competition.
Kennedie Dyer led the varsity Gym Hounds, winning in the vault, bars and all around with scores of 8.7, 7.2 and 32.2.
JCHS swept the top spots in multiple events. In the vault, scores of 8.6 by Caroline Barfield and Cayl Milner finished just behind Dyer. Dyer and Chloe Clark took the top spots on the bars with scores of 7.2 and 7.1 with Clark and Dyer’s scores of 8.0 on the beam being good for first.
In floor routine, Milner won with a score of 8.85, Barfield was second with an 8.65 and Dyer and Autumn Clark being close behind at 8.3. Clark was also second in all-around with a score of 31.35.
First-place scores by Kaylee Wilson in the vault, bars and floor routine led the JV Gym Hounds in addition to Kiersten Foreman being third on the vault, first on the beam and first in all-around. Kinley Babb and Anna Mitchell were second and third on the bars, Alexa Johnson was third on the beam and Mitchell was second in floor routine.
Addie Milner won first on the beam, floor and all-around to go with finishing third on the bars in middle school competition to go with third-place finishes by Makenzie Ward in floor routine and Avery Swearingen in all around.
