JME Excavation available for Jones County residents

JME Excavation, a local excavation company, is available to help Jones County residents with their excavation needs.

John McIntosh, the owner of JME Excavation, lives in Gray. He said he likes Jones County, because that’s all he really knows. He said his family really loves living in the county.

He said he grew up and graduated here.

“We call Jones County paradise. We love the small community, and the feel of the community,” he said. “I walk into ACE Hardware, and everyone knows who I am. It’s just a great place to live.”

JME Excavation is open all week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

McIntosh said he really enjoys providing a quality service to people in the Middle Georgia area.

“We’re a small excavation company, and we concentrate on mainly doing small lot clearing and forestry mulching. I own rental property, and I was having trouble finding someone who could handle excavation without calling a big company. I wanted it to be affordable, and I wanted someone who specialized in that.

That’s when I decided to start a business myself,” he said.

McIntosh said he kept his business local and near Jones County at first, but now he travels all over Georgia doing excavation business. He said they do land clearing and grading, tree removal and hauling, fencing, driveway formation and repair, rock, mulch and gravel deliveries, forestry mulching, and much more.

“We market to residential customers a little more than we do commercial,” the owner said. “A lot of people have property that’s overgrown that they want to extend out and getting someone to do that is hard to find. I saw the need. I’d say the main thing people come to us for is forestry mulching.”

McIntosh said people should do business with JME Excavation, because they are local and small. He said they try to keep their prices low, so it’s more affordable for the average person.

He said he enjoys being outside a lot and not being confined to one thing all the time.

He said running JME Excavation makes that possible for him. He said that’s just what he really enjoys doing.

“People seem to like what we do, and we’ve had a lot of really good feedback,” McIntosh said. “We change the way people’s property looks; it is usually like a night and day difference. When people call us, they really need us. I’m happy they like what we can do for them.”
