Senior Center Fish Fry Fundraiser
The Jones County Senior Center, 126 Senior Center Way, Gray, will be having a fish fry fundraiser Friday, April 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All plates include fish or chicken wings, baked beans with a choice of potato salad or coleslaw, bread, dessert, and a drink for $10. Plates may be reserved or picked up on the day of the event. Plates may be reserved Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at 478 986-6815.
Old Clinton War Days
Old Clinton War Days will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7.
Gates will open at 9 a.m. Battles begin at 2:05 each day. Saturday’s program will conclude at 8:05 p.m. with the 16th Georgia, Company G, Jackson Rifles, CSA conducting a memorial service in the Clinton Methodist Church Cemetery to honor Clinton’s Confederate dead. The Old Clinton Historic District is located 10 miles NE of Macon just off US Hwy 129. For more information, you may call 478-251-6745.
Mobile Food Truck
Jones County will receive only one Mobile Food Truck for this quarter. Mobile Food Truck from Middle Georgia Community Food Bank will be at Greater Jordan Chapel Church in Haddock on Wednesday, June 28. Line will open at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Mobile Truck in Jones County for April nor May at Sunrise Ministry nor Greater Jordan Chapel Church. The Velma McFadden Food Pantry is open first Saturday and third Thursday from 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Mount Salem Missionary Baptist
The Mount Salem Missionary Baptist Church at 159 Cleveland St., Gray, invites you to attend Pastor Olanda Deshazier 1st Anniversary Celebration, April 30, at 1:00 p.m. The guest speaker for this occasion is Pastor Colby McKenzie and New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Jones County Head Start
Now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. Apply online at mgcaa.org. Documents required for registration are: Birth Certificate/Proof of Birth, Immunization Record Form 3231, Social Security Card, Proof of Income, GA Public Health Form 3300, Medicaid/Insurance Card, and Well Child Check. Free child development services for eligible families with children ages 3-5.
Child must be 3 by Sept. 1, 2023.
Transportation is not provided.
JCHS Unified Bingo Night Fundraiser
Jones County High School Unified will have a Bingo Night Fundraiser May 5 at the Jones County Fair Grounds. 6:00 p.m. (Dinner) and 7:00 p.m. (Bingo). Woodmen Life will serve a spaghetti dinner that includes bread, tea/lemonade for $6.00 per plate, all desserts are a $1.00 donation. $20 for 6 game sheets, $10 for extra pack, $2 for 1 extra card, $5 for 3 extra cards and $1 for daubers. A Silent Auction, 50/50 Raffle and door prizes will also be offered. All proceeds will benefit the Jones County Special Olympics.

Norma Greene Butler Marsh Scholarship
Bradley Baptist Church is currently accepting applications for the Norma Greene Butler Marsh Scholarships. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be offered for the 2023 school year. Applications are available to any graduating senior (only Jones County residents) attending Jones County High School in Gray. Applications may be obtained from the counselors’ office at Jones County High School or from Bradley Baptist Church, 821 Monticello Hwy. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Tuesday - Friday.
