CROSS COUNTRY
Another sign of the success of the Greyhounds cross country program was underscored last week with yet another runner signing a scholarship to run on the collegiate level. Anna Grace Hinson became the latest from Jones County to do so last week, signing a national letter of intent to run for Middle Georgia State. Hinson was one of many Lady Greyhounds to hit her stride late last season, finishing fifth in the region meet with a time of 22:18.07 as Jones County’s girls captured a region title.
That showing came on a day in which the Lady Hounds swept the top five finishing positions and six of the top seven.
Based on last year’s schedule, Hinson will have lots of chances to run close to home. The Knights home course coincidentally is one that Jones County has previously competed at in a meet hosted by Mount de Sales. Other Macon State meets last fall were hosted by GCSU and GMC.
