Real Life

–George Sheffield “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Rom. 15:13).

People need hope to survive in life. As long as they have hope, they can endure whatever trial or suffering comes their way. Take away the hope, though, and a person’s will to live, to go on, will quickly evaporate.

The world offers no real hope for mankind. What hope it offers is shallow and “iffy”. It’s an undependable hope, a hopeless hope. Only God offers real hope! His hope is an absolute, confident expectation of the unseen and of the future. God’s hope is a “sure thing”, not an “iffy” maybe. God’s hope fills one with joy and peace, and that hope is only found in Jesus. He is the Hope of the ages.

He is the Hope for our dying world.

Through Jesus people can have hope in their lives now and they can have the hope of eternal life in Heaven when they die. People without Christ are hopeless “aliens” to God’s kingdom. Faith in Jesus makes a person a child of God (Gal. 3:26). Only then can one become a citizen of God’s kingdom and spend eternity in Heaven. Aliens will not be allowed in (Rev. 20:15 and Rev. 22: 14-15). No Jesus, no hope.
