Sept. 2

Stolen Little Debbie’s and Gummys

Officer Farley responded to a report of shoplifting at a local business. Upon arrival at the business, Farley made contact with an employee that stated a male subject came in and used the self-check-out and pretended to scan his items. Farley observed the video footage, and it showed the male scanning three bottles of water, then put all the other items into a bag without scanning and paying for them. Farley was able to identify the subject on the video footage and found where the subject lives. The officer made contact with the male subject at his residence. The male admitted to taking a box of Little Debbie Honey Buns, two bags of Peach Gummy Rings and a 20-ounce Lemonade drink. Farley made the subject pay for the items at that time and cited him for shoplifting and issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and advised him not to return to the business.

Sept. 5

Laying drag

Officer Hathaway was on patrol when he observed a vehicle making a U-turn at the traffic light located at the intersection of West Clinton St. and Jackson Ave. As the vehicle made the turn, the male driver accelerated to the point where his tires lost traction and the car got sideways in the road.

After the driver got the vehicle under control, he again accelerated to the point where the tires lost traction again causing the vehicle to get sideways a second time. At that time Hathaway conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. When the officer made contact with the male driver, the driver admitted to spinning the tires and tried making excuses as to why he did that. Hathaway told the male that with it happening twice, it was no accident. The male was issued a citation for Laying Drag and or reckless conduct with a motor vehicle then released from the scene.
