Subject got away
Dep. Langston was on patrol when he observed a vehicle that seemed to be attempting to gain distance from him. Langston increased his speed to catch up with the vehicle and get the license plate number. Once Langston was able to obtain the license plate information, he ran the tag number, and it came back to show that tag number was for a totally different vehicle than it appeared on. Langston continued to follow the vehicle and the vehicle continued to try and create distance from the deputy by speeding up and was driving over speed breakers without slowing down and was unable to maintain their lane in a safe manor. The driver continued to increase speed and again had difficulty maintaining their lane of travel. The driver turned southbound in the roadway in front of an approaching vehicle in order to put more distance between the subject and the deputy. At that time Langston activated his emergency lights and siren. The driver increased his speed as he entered Bibb County. Langston advised dispatch of his location and that he was in pursuit of the vehicle. Once the subject entered Bibb County, the vehicle reached speeds of 89 mph during the pursuit. Langston closely pursued the vehicle until he could confirm Bibb County could assist in the traffic stop. When confirmed that another unit was available, Langston increased his speed to catch up to the vehicle once more, however he lost sight of the vehicle. Finally, the deputy located the vehicle that had come to a stop and as Langston approached, a male driver jumped out of the vehicle and began running. Bibb County Deputies arrived on scene and proceeded to search the area for the male subject using a description that Langston had given them.
Langston conducted a search of the vehicle and then continued the search for the male subject at the surrounding area. The deputies were not able to locate the male subject.
