Burglary at local business

Sgt. Humphries responded to a call in reference to a burglary at a local business. When Humphries arrived on scene, he met with the complainant and business operator. The complainant advised that when he arrived at the business, the main entrance glass door was busted out and entry had been made into the business. The complainant advised Humphries that the cash box they kept behind the counter had been stolen and that the cash box sits on a shelf behind the counter with a printer on top of it. Humphries observed the printer was lying in the floor behind a camera. Broken glass from the door was scattered across the floor inside indicating that the door had been broken from the outside. The security camera was located in the main lobby of the business. Humphries reviewed the camera footage and saw a vehicle pull into the parking lot and then goes out of the camera view. Soon after, you could hear the glass being busted out in the footage, the cash box being taken out and then the vehicle is seen leaving the business. Having the description of the vehicle and a time frame of the burglary, Humphries was able to locate a possible suspect vehicle. The information was then passed on to investigators.

Caught by Flock Camera

Deputy Langston was on patrol when he was alerted by a Flock Camera of a vehicle with suspended registration, no insurance and the registered owner had a warrant out of Bibb County. Langston was able to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. When the deputy made contact with the male driver, the subject advised the deputy that he was the registered owner of the vehicle, however he could not locate his driver’s license at that time. The male driver also advised Langston that he did not have insurance on the vehicle. At that time, Langston placed the male driver in restraints and put him in the back of his patrol vehicle.

While the deputy was doing a vehicle inventory search, he located the male’s driver’s license in a brown wallet found in the rear floorboard. Langston transported the male to the Jones County LEC where he was given citations for suspended registration and no insurance.

No insurance and outstanding warrant

Deputy Elrod was on assigned shift when he ran a tag number on a vehicle to check for valid registration and insurance. The GCIC/NCIC system came back to show that the vehicle had suspended registration and no insurance. Elrod activated his blue lights and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The deputy then made contact with the male driver, a male front passenger and a male rear seat passenger.

Elrod had dispatch run all the subject’s information through the GCIC/NCIC database. Dispatch then advised the deputy that the front seat passenger had an active warrant out of Bibb County for failure to appear. That passenger was placed in handcuffs at that time. The male driver could not provide proof of insurance on the vehicle or updated registration, and he also had a suspended license due to child support obligations. Both the male driver and male front seat passenger were transported to the Jones County LEC for booking. The driver was issued citations for no insurance, suspended registration and driving on a suspended license. The front seat passenger was held for his outstanding warrant from Bibb County.
