In summer of 2023, 2 Boys Lemonade Stand – with Jakoby Goodwin, 9, and Ace Preston, 4, at helm – began a mission to raise $500 for the Jones County Animal Shelter. Plagued by rain, colds and flu, the boys were able to set up in downtown Gray, selling cups of lemonade for a $1 and received donations, too, raising $318. Koby is now 10 and in fourth grade and son of Destiny Brooke Goodwin. He attends Gray Community Church regularly and along with fishing plays rec football, basketball and baseball. Ace is 5 now, in Pre-K and has two moms, Joelle and Julie Weprek. Ace is athletic also playing rec baseball, basketball and soccer. Ace attends Gray Community Church regularly also. The boys never gave up on their goal and with 2024 push. Donations reached $525, which they are shown presenting to Animal Shelter Director Jennifer Allen.
