“…Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye, and believe the Gospel. ” (Mark 1:14-15).
Many people will leave this world unsaved. They will die without Christ. So many obituaries are only about the deceased with no mention of Jesus or even church. People live and die without fulfilling the whole purpose of life--to be Born Again through faith in Jesus.
Jesus didn’t come to preach a social gospel.
He didn’t come to preach a fuzzy love. He didn’t come to just heal the sick, feed the poor, or comfort those who mourn. Jesus came to be “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (Jn 1:29). Jesus came to take away your sin, to write your name in His Book of Life, to redeem you to the Father, to save you from Hell, to make you holy.
And His blood accomplishes all this. Jesus left His throne in Heaven to come to an old rugged cross and die.
So repent and believe His Gospel. Call upon His name to save you. Then when your obituary is written, they can say that you loved Jesus.
Your day will come, you’ll make the news, Your obituary for all to view.
But will the folks read about your Savior, Or will it be just all about you?
