Main Street Gray is hosting a Mother’s Day Sip and Shop event in downtown Gray on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to celebrate with mothers in the Jones County community.
Ashley Roberson, Main Street Gray director, said she’s excited for the event. She said it will be a great opportunity for people in the community to come out and celebrate their mother’s.
“We are going to be having a Mother’s Day Sip and Shop in downtown Gray. All the stores will be open, and they will have some activities going on,” she said. “The restaurants will be open, and we will have our open container in effect. We will have a little bit of music throughout the day, too.”
She said there will be vendors at the Mother’s Day event. She said there will be a create your own flower bar, sweets, pastries, food trucks, and more. She said it’s going to be a day for everyone to hang out with mom.
“We always really enjoy these Saturday events. They get people out and into the downtown area. A lot of shops are open more on the weekends, and this is a great way to support these local businesses. Mother’s Day is a great reason to do some shopping,” Roberson said.
The director said she feels people will have a lot of fun during the Mother’s Day Sip and Shop event. She said they have had great feedback, and it’s a good excuse to have a girl’s day with family and friends.
“I’m looking forward to the shopping. I love the things the boutiques bring in for these types of events. I enjoy the vendors who bring in different options for us, like having baked goods. It will be a great day to support our local businesses, community and mother figures in our lives,” she said.
Roberson said some of the vendors are students from Jones County High School who did the Georgia Flex Competition. She said she loves any opportunity they get to showcase what they have been doing. “ It’s amazing what they do at their age,” she added.
Roberson said she hopes to see everyone downtown May 11. She said the Mother’s Day Sip and Shop is a great opportunity to get a gift or treat a mother figure to something special.
“I love to relax with my mom on Mother’s Day, and spend some quality time with my kids,” Roberson said. “It’s a great day to be thankful for your mom. My mom is going to come and hang out with me, so I think others should spend the day with their mom as well.”
