“A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.“
(Prov 15:12)
Spiritually foolish people hate (loveth not) to be reproved--correctedwith scripture. They scorn the word of God and will hate the messenger who brings it. The Pharisees hated Jesus because He reproved their corrupt and unscriptural behavior and beliefs.
Not only will scorners hate correction, they will also refuse to seek out Biblical wisdom. They reject the Bible, its teachings, its God. They regard the Bible as fiction or fairy tales, and ridicule its words of truth. Instead they succumb to real fables and lying doctrines of devils (1Tim 4:1) that will forever lock in their folly, condemning them to an eternal damnation.
The good news is that even a scorner can repent and believe the Gospel.
Gen. Lewis Wallace, once a scorner, became a believer, and wrote the masterpiece Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. Who ever calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved. The Biblical foolish can become the Biblical wise.
