Although the summertime may represent a time of respite and taking a break, the recreation facilities across Jones County are an example of an outlier. The Morris Bank Recreation Complex served as a prime example last week with events such as pickleball and all-star baseball and softball practice being complemented with the ongoing play in the 2024 church softball league, which has games set to be played through the end of the regular season on July 2.
Last week’s results included Real Life Church taking a pair of wins against Greenwood Baptist 22-5 and 19-11 against Gray Community Church.
Gray Community Church split a pair of games Friday, beating one of First Baptist’s teams 20-6 and dropping a 17-16 decision to First Baptist’s other entry.
The arrival of June will also harken the return of the Women’s Grayberry League with games to begin June 4 in a league comprised of eight teams.
