Dear Editor,
Now that school is out and the home care of our children has begun daily, I want to thank all those dear teachers and other helpers who stand out in the cold, hot, and rainy weather who gives so much of themselves to protect and get each child in the right car or bus. They are to be commended for their teaching and caring for each child and has to be rewarding for those enduring task.
We the parents, grands and greats appreciate you and our school system. Through Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grade through fifth I have been the one who picks up and I look forward to the new school year with my last little one going to elementary.
I will miss those years going to three different schools, including pre-school at Gray Baptist with four great grands. It was sad for me to say goodbyes on the last school day to those hard-working ladies. I appreciate each one.
Sincerely, Evelyn Collins
Appreciation for
Yarbrough column
Dear Editor,
Thank you so much for your column in the Jones County News regarding the future of one of Georgia’s jewels- the Okefenokee Swamp. I am thoroughly disheartened that those charged with protecting this irreplaceable treasure yielded to what …. money? Such a sad day. I hope the governor and others realize the enormity of their failure.
Thank you for your voice!
