Anndrea Lampkin, the owner of Allure Aesthetics, said she is originally from Columbus, but she really loves Jones County and has made it home.
“Jones County has that close-knit community feel,” she said. “I enjoy being able to see someone I know everywhere I go here. Coming from a larger city, you don’t really know anyone, but here you really get to know your community.”
She said she loves the new location of her business. She was in the same building as Ambi Rae Boutique before this. The two businesses shared the same space, but it became too small.
“We decided to move, because Allure needed more space. We have added new services and new products. We needed more space for that reason. We wanted to be able to better serve the community,” Lampkin said.
The owner said they are starting to do hormone therapy now, and they can do that now that they have the space. She said Allure has more staff, so they have more availability to do more services for clients.
“Hormone therapy is for those individuals who are postmenopausal or for guys as they get older in age their testosterone falls off,” she said. “You’ll see it manifest with fatigue, weight gain, agitation, and aggression. Individuals will either do creams, pills, injections, but the hormone pellets will allow the absorption of the medication under the skin. It’s supposed to be more regulated than the shots or the creams.”
Lampkin said people seem to really enjoy the hormone pellets and the results they get from doing this kind of therapy. She said she wanted to add on this service for people who want the boost. She started her business by just wanting to learn more about skin care and how she can help others with their skin.
“This is definitely a stressful job, but I love being able to get to know my clients. Coming from an ER background, I didn’t really get to know my patients on a daily basis but here I really do. I love being able to make that connection and form friendships,” Lampkin said.
She said the skin is the largest organ, and people need to take care of it. She said people don’t always have to do botox or fillers, because they do offer other services to help with skin care. They also offer services such as chemical peels, laser hair removal, IV hydration, a weight loss program, hydrafacials, microneedling, and more.
“We try to keep everything as reasonable and affordable as we can. Skin care and healthcare can get expensive, but we try our best to keep it affordable. The majority of the population can stop by and enjoy our services here at Allure,” she said.
The owner said she appreciated everyone who stopped by the new location, and she hopes people will return.
“I was excited to see everyone come out and visit the space. We worked really hard at the new location, and I just love it,” Lampkin said. “I really think everyone enjoyed seeing the place and what we have to offer to the community.”
