Mattie Wells Elementary Families, Welcome back to school! “EMBRACE THE SQUIGGLE, LEARNING OUTSIDE THE LINES” We are excited to kick off a new academic year with a theme that encourages creativity, innovation, and thinking outside the box. We’re thrilled to welcome the following educators to the Wildcat family: Ms.

Amy Flanders, Mrs. Sierra Sanders, Mrs. Dana Sconyers, Mrs. Jessica Sills, and Ms. Julia Weathers.

Keeping our students and staff safe remains a top priority. A few things to note to help the year move smoothly:

• Staffwillbeinpositiontoreceive students on the 1st day of school and throughout the school year.

• Parents/GuardiansmaywalktheirK-2 child to their classroom the first 5 days of schools.

• Doorsopenat7:15a.m.forstudents and breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m.

Students should not be dropped off before 7:15.

• Allcarridersaretobedroppedoff through the carpool lane. The carpool lane closes at 7:55 am. Tardy bell rings at 7:55 a.m.

• Studentsarrivingafter7:55a.m.must be escorted and signed in by a parent/ adult in the front office. This procedure has been put in place for the safety of our children.

• Dismissalbeginspromptlyat2:40 p.m. Students will not be checked out from the front office after 2 p.m. in preparation for dismissal. Parents must present current year’s car tags for safe pick-up.

• Parent/Guardianmusthaveidentification when signing out their child(ren).

• Transportationchangesmustbemade by 1 p.m. through the front office.

Hand-written notes sent by students are preferred for documentation purposes, other wise phone the front office.

We encourage you to take an active role in your child’s learning by staying in touch with his/her teacher. Family engagement plays a critical role in our school’s success.Your partnership and support are key elements to ensure that we maximize each student’s educational and personal development.We encourage a positive home-school relationship based on the mutual goal of providing the best learning experience possible for all students. Our talented caring faculty brings a diverse set of approaches to instruction to address a variety of student learning styles.
