“For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king: He will save us.”
(Isa 33:22) A person once said that God doesn’t has the right to judge him. But God does have the right to judge him, to judge all of us. Here’s a few reasons.
1--We are God’s creations. The potter has every right to inspect His pottery; to keep those of honor, to destroy those of dishonor.
2--God is the Judge.
Because Jesus created the law, He has every right to make judgments based on His laws.
3--God is the Lawgiver.
He created the law, declared what is righteous and what is sin. His laws do not, never will, violate His character or morality.
His laws are pure and perfect. And those who break His laws will be judged accordingly.
4--God is the King.
He makes the rules. He reigns sovereign over all.
As King, He has the last word, and that last word will stand.
5--God is holy. He will pass judgment on any and all unholiness. Because He is holy, no sin will be excused or ignored.
Through His judgments, God will make right every wrong.
6--God is God and that’s reason alone for His right to judge.
Yes, God has every right to judge us for our sins.
But He doesn’t want to judge us, so Jesus came to take that judgment for us on the cross. When you believe on Him, the Father’s judgment passes over you. If you fail to believe on Jesus, then that judgment will fall on you.
