Jones County brought back multiple finishes near the top of the leaderboard at Saturday’s state cross country championships in Bleckley County, including Gray Station’s girls finishing fourth in their division in addition to taking first in the girls JV race. GSMS also placed fifth in the boys event.
That fourth-place finish was led by Phoebe Palmer and Charleigh Feizet coming in ninth and 10th as well as Kennedy Marshall in 20th. The JV first-place run was paced by Makenzie Snook, Kaitlyn Flickinger and Kloe McMillan sweeping the top three positions with another top showing via Elli Bright in ninth.
The top boys overall finishers for Gray Station were Owen Wommack in 30th and Aiden Davis in 41st. Brooks Scott was the top finisher for Clifton Ridge Middle in the same race, coming in 43rd with the top CRMS girls finishers being Sydney Vaughan in 30th.
