Innovative Senior Solution of Americus organized the Innovative Senior Festival Sept. 11 to celebrate seniors in the state, and the Middle Georgia area was very excited to have been invited.
This was held at South Georgia Tech College Gymnasium, showcasing senior resources, vendors, live entertainment - New York City style, fun and community, bingo games, a talent show and a complimentary lunch on Jones Elderly Cuties Street was provided.
The talent show featured Evelyn Hill as lead singer, Gloria Bland, Ruby Towles, Betty Pitts, Carolyn Shinholster, Lizzie Hardy, Ann Prince, Doris Irvin and Juanita Bryant.
Mary Manson invoked the crown with praises and thanksgiving before the choir performed. The choir sang “Trouble In My Way.”
The Jones choir won the third-place trophy.
Jones senior citizen bingo winners were Catherine Reid - $15 Walmart gift card; Ann Prince $30 manicure and pedicure certificate; Lizzie Spencer - cooler, Jestine Daniels - candle holder set.
