For the third year in a row, the Cheer Hounds are bound for the state championships.

By virtue of Saturday’s showing at sectionals at Walnut Grove, Jones County’s competition cheerleaders will again make the very short drive to the Macon Coliseum for the GHSA State Cheerleading Championships.

Saturday’s overall score of 87 at sectionals was more than enough for JCHS to earn a return trip to Saturday’s state meet, a showing that also placed second in the region. Jones County will compete in Friday morning’s 10 a.m. session with teams from the AAAA and AA classifications.

The Cheer Hounds are the final team in the performance order for the session’s first half prior to intermission.
