Fields of Faith for 2024 was a little different with weather conditions forcing the event to be held inside.
The Nov. 6 event took place in the Jones County High School gym instead of the usual Greyhound Field. Fields of Faith is sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, led in Jones County by JCHS teacher Kelly Roberson.
This year’s program had 992 in attendance with approximately 100 volunteers.
“We want to thank all the churches, sponsors and volunteers of Jones County that helped make this eventpossible,” Roberson said. The keynote speaker for Fields of Faith was AJ Wright and other speakers included JCHS seniors Addison Davis, Kyle Gordon and college speaker Maggie Glover.
Volunteer Julie King said 100 came down for the alter call, 15 first time decisions for Christ were made, 46 rededications and 170 Bibles were distributed.
Technology, music and sound for the event were provided by Good News TV and the Worship Team were Kevin Ward and band.
Fields of Faith is a student-led and student-driven event where young people gather to stand together against the pressures and temptations in the world and be a generation committed to reading the Bible and applying it to life.
Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read God’s Word and follow Jesus Christ.
Next Year’s event is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025,at Greyhound Field. Gates will openat 5:30 p.m. and the program will start at 6:30 pm.
