Lady Hounds rally past Woodland to stay unbeaten in region

HOOP HOUNDS

The challenge was far greater than any other faced so far within the region for the Lady Greyhounds last Tuesday at Woodland.

Even still, Jones County prevailed, gaining a five-point scoring margin in the final quarter to win 52-50, coming back from a 23-20 halftime deficit with Mya Anderson’s double-double leading the way via 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Anderson was not the only Lady Greyhound with a strong all-around effort. Kamiyah Adams added 16 points and six rebounds while Aubrey Norris poured in eight points, pulled down eight rebounds to go with five assists and four steals.

JCHS routed Hampton 84-25 on Friday to enter the Christmas break 7-0 in the region and 10-1 overall.

After non-region games Dec. 28 at home against Southwest and Jan. 4 at Putnam County, Jones County will look to wrap up the first half of region play undefeated at Eagles Landing Christian Jan. 7 and Jan. 10 at third-place Union Grove. From there, every region game the rest of the season will be at home, beginning Jan. 11 against McDonough.
