–George Sheffield Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Heb 13:8).
Different year, same Lord.
Time changes but God does not. The years change but He remains the same. “For I am the LORD, I change not” --Mal 3:6. God is immutable, unchanging in His nature, holiness, promises, power, word, and purpose.
It is impossible for Jesus to change. This is why you can trust the Bible.
The Jesus you read about in the pages of Scripture is the same Jesus who governs in the affairs of mankind today. He hasn’t changed His mind and become a different Jesus.
The angels told the disciples as Jesus ascended into heaven that this same Jesus will one day return: not a different Jesus--the same Jesus (Acts 1:10-11).
The Jesus of yesterday is the same Jesus of today and will be the same Jesus tomorrow.
While we may change, while the world changes, while the years change, we can rest secure in the One who never changes--Jesus.
