–George Sheffield Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ--(Col 4:3) Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
(Mark 16:15). We are not to keep quiet about what Jesus has done for us. Yet many refrain from doing just that. Fear, shyness, lack of confidence, and other reasons keep some from proclaiming the very thing that has freed them from the bondage of sin.
First, pray about it. Ask God to show you whom He wants you to speak to.
Ask Him to open a door for your witnessing; a time or moment when you will be able to talk with that person. If you seek God’s guidance, He will arrange things so that you can talk.
One lady had an unsaved neighbor. She asked God to open a door so she could witness to her neighbor.
She soon discovered her neighbor was afraid of mice and could not bring herself to empty a mousetrap when it caught one.
So the lady volunteered to empty the traps when needed. This “open door” allowed her to talk to her neighbor about Jesus. The neighbor, grateful for the help, was willing to listen.
Pray for that “open door”. Pray for God to prepare hearts to receive His word.
Pray for God to embolden you to share that word.
Then be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit so that you will be able to recognize when the door opens.
