The spring running season began for runners usually near the top of the board during the fall’s cross country circuit on Saturday as multiple Jones County entrants captured top finishes at the Bleckley County Runnin’ Royal Distance Carnival.
JCHS claimed third-place finishes in multiple events with Addison Robinson’s time of 5:22.34 in the girls 1600 meters, Andrew Marshall in the boys 800 meters with a run of 2:06.40 and Luke Thornton’s 4:34.59 in the 1600 meters.
Other top finishes for the Lady Hounds were Lilly Palmer’s sixth-place time of 5:39.75 in the 1600 meters as well as a fifth-place in the 4x400 relay.
For the Greyhounds, Ian Borsahole took 10th in the 800 meters with time of 2:11.18 with Tyler Marshall’s fifth-place 4:37.89 in the 1600 meters. The Greyhounds also finished fourth in the 4x400 relay.
In the middle school events, Madison Marshall was second, Makenzie Snook took fifth and Kennedy Marshall placed eighth in the 800 meters. Phoebe Palmer finished third in the 1600 meters in front of Mary Barnwell in fourth and Snook in eighth while Kennedy Marshall won first in the 3200 meters. Jones County also took first in the girls 4x400 relay.
