    The Greyhounds football coaching staff, comprised of mostly new coaches under head coach Justin Montgomery, got an early look this week at next year’s incoming freshman class.

    The Greyhounds coaches hosted rising eighth graders from Clifton Ridge and Gray Station mddle schools for four days of a rising-ninth-grade combine, allowing coaches to get an up-close look at what the current group of rising players can do both in the weight room and on the field. It also enabled players, coming off time in the middle school ranks, to get used to new coaches and also see first-hand the bedrock of the team’s culture and maxims.

    The Greyhounds begin spring practice next Monday and wrap up their spring May 17 in an intrasquad scrimmage.
