When it came to the success of the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds on the basketball court last season, Mya Anderson and Chance Banks were big reasons for it.
Now, they’ll officially be chasing success on the next level after both signed letters-of-intent during a Monday ceremony among friends, family, coaches and teammates.
Anderson inked with LaGrange College, and Banks signed with Thomas University, keeping both standouts in state for their college careers.
Anderson scored 13 points per game and averaged five rebounds per contest for the Lady Greyhounds in their wireto- wire season, in which they went undefeated in the region and went on to win a region tournament title. That performance helped Anderson garner first-team all-region honors as well as an honorable mention for all state.
She’ll head to a Panthers program under new head coach Steve Kenner, giving Anderson the opportunity to be on the ground floor of a new era of women’s basketball at the school.
Banks will go to a Night Hawks program that was 17-13 last season in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) that includes Middle Georgia State University. He played in every contest last year for the Greyhounds, being second on the team in assists and among the team leaders in multiple other offensive categories.
