Destin Howard saw time in the pitcher’s circle for Georgia over the weekend as the Lady Bulldogs won the Durham regional at Duke to advance to this weekend’s super regional at Florida.
The winner of that regional will move on to the Women’s College World Series.
Georgia won Sunday’s second game 5-2 to advance after Duke stayed alive in an 8-1 win in which Howard helped the Lady Bulldogs close the game out, allowing them to align their pitching for the pivotal contest, won 5-2 by Georgia.
Georgia’s super regional berth is its third straight and fourth in the past five seasons.
Jackson Mix wrapped up his collegiate career recently at Brevard College, capping a season in which he appeared in nine games, starting four.
