At least four colleges expected at Saturday prospect showcase at JCHS
Local high school players will have the opportunity to be seen by at least four colleges at Saturday’s Earl Chambers Camps prospect showcase at the Jones County High School.
Schools scheduled to be on hand with coaches include Warner University, Kentucky State, Valdosta State and Allen University.
Check-in is at 7:15 a.m. with practice from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Student-athletes are asked to coordinate with their high school coaches to receive permission to attend. For more information, visit, Earl-ChambersCamps.com
Youth soccer sign-ups underway
Registration for the Jones County Youth Soccer League is open through Aug. 15. The cost is $100 per player and is open to ages 4-16.
Tryouts will take place on Sept. 4 for ages 6-16 from 6-8 p.m., depending on age group.

Youth football sign-ups open through Aug.1
The deadline of August 1 remains as the deadline to sign up for this fall’s Jones County Youth football leagues. Football is open to ages 5-12 with girls flag football for those aged 7-14. Cheerleading is open to ages 5-14.
Registration is online with in-person registration being offered July 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Aug. 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
