Tyler Stewart played a sizeable role on special teams in Temple’s season-opening 42-10 against UMASS, returning one punt for 24 yards and running back three kicks for a combined 50 yards. The Owls host Oklahoma next week, where Zion Ragins is among the receivers in the rotation.
Javious Bond, who found his way to Austin Peay in the offseason via the transfer portal, rushed eight times for 36 yards and hauled in two passes for 22 yards in a win against Middle Tennessee State. Bond will be close to home this week as the Governors take on Georgia.
Zaccari Thomas saw action in his first game with Boston College, registering a
tackle in a 66-10 rout of Fordham. The Eagles travel to Michigan State on Saturday.
John Alan Richter begins the season No. 2 on the depth chart at Toledo, which dropped its opener 24-16 at Kentucky.
